Risa Doherty has been writing freelance feature articles since 1995. Risa has worked as a copy editor for various local newspapers and was a Family Educator from 2008 to 2013, teaching third, fourth, sixth and seventh graders and their parents. She also authored an anti-bullying curriculum, which was successfully piloted in the Roslyn schools. She is an attorney by profession and practiced law in New York City from 1986 to 1990.
She received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
